Arjun Vagale is arguably one of the most in-demand DJs in India and one of EDM's biggest exports, playing over 100 gigs each year, touring regularly in Germany, Spain, USA, France, Sweden, Holland, Dubai, South Korea, Indonesia and Singapore. But you will find him often spending his summers in techno city mecca, Berlin. He has played alongside such heavyweights as Fergie, Sasha, Dave Seaman, Paolo Mojo, Cari Lekebusch and Kasey Taylor, while his live act, Jalebee Cartel, has shared headlining spots with the likes of The Prodigy, Modeselektor and Carl Cox. His knowledge and use of technology in the booth is second to none, often adding drum machines & samplers to create a unique yet raw, funk-laden techno set.Its been almost 10 years since Arjun, along side Ash Roy & Ashvin Sharma, formed India’s biggest live act Jalebee Cartel. With its genre-bending sets the band generated the biggest buzz ever, being featured in DJ Mag, MixMag, Rolling Stone, and Elle Magazine’s list of 100 Rising Stars. They had the privilege of releasing over 50 records on labels like Ostwind Records, Neurotraxx Deluxe, Vapour Recordings, Baroque Records & Platipus among others. The collective is probably the first Indian act to reach the Beatport Top 10, Balance Record Pool Charts and DJ Magazine’s Hype Charts. 2009 saw the release of Jalebee’s critically acclaimed debut album, ONEPOINTNOTHING. But its Arjun’s solo tracks that are now, making the most noise. His music can be found on labels such as Excentric Muzik, Tribal Rage, Hummingbird, ALiVE, Frequenza Records, Vapour Records and Variante Music. He has also remixed for Fergie, Solead, Bluephase and Mabaan Soul alongside collaborations with James Dutton, Tim Richards, Anil Chawla & Dale Anderson and DJ's like Carl Cox, Karotte, Josh Wink, Richie Hawtin, Nic Fanciulli, Paolo Mojo, Sebastien Leger and Reset Robot regularly feature his music in their sets or radio shows.Never one to play Top 10 tunes, Arjun’s always scouring for fresh underground tracks – the man never sleeps! This search lead naturally to his latest venture, founding and managing a young record label, Mak.Tub Music, with partner Logiztik Sounds. The imprint already has an impressive roster of artists including Alex Dolby, Fiord, Jay Haze, Peter Horrevorts, Pawas, Dave Ellesmere, Ray Kajioka, and has hit the coveted Beatport charts.
