Biography Marc Poppcke
Marc was born in the small German town of Hildesheim. Growing up in the mid-90s, he was influenced by the German radio show 'HR 3 Clubnight' and became part of the electronic music scene. He eventually began to work as a DJ, and in July 2000 his first official booking in a club followed. Since then he has appeared in various clubs and on different events. From 2001 until 2003 he was a resident DJ at an electronic music club called 'H.de.M.', which was the most important club for electronic music in Hannover at that time. Being a resident at this club was an important chapter in his life because he often got to play warm-up sets for well-known DJs and learned much of what characterizes him today as DJ. He also started working in a vinyl record shop called Street Sounds in April 2002. In September 2005 Marc moved from Hanover to Berlin and started an education at the School of Audio Engineering (SAE) as an audio engineer. He graduated in 2008 as Bachelor of Arts and is currently working on his Master degree at the University of Arts. In Berlin he has played as a DJ in clubs like Watergate, Tape Club or Bar 25. With his production partner Daniel Solar he started the project Solar & Poppcke in summer 2007. Together they have released many tracks and remixes on labels like Diynamic, Meerestief or Ostwind to name only a few. This year solo releases and remixes on labels like Soma, Darkroom Dubs, Moonpool and Night Drive Music will follow.
